A tree is often associated with spirituality or life force.  A tree can also symbolize God, which is the source of life.  “The Tree of Life” is a common religious symbol.  Trees are strong, tall, stable, secure, and have deep roots.  The roots indicate that they can dig deep … withstand many adversities, and remain strong and alive.  Dreams of climbing trees or being near them signifies turning within, or to your spirituality for inner strength.

Example:  Children who have been abused or suffered trauma will often draw pictures of damaged trees or plants.  The branches may be broken, the tree may have no leaves, or the roots may be missing.  These children’s lives have been threatened, so their pictures reveal this emotional harm.
